FAQ

Questions parents ask.

Plain answers about privacy, texting, money and party day. Can't find yours? Write to hello@birthdaypartypal.com and a real person will answer.

Privacy and your kid's information

What do you know about my kid?

Only what you type: usually a first name and the age they're turning. We never ask for photos, birthdates, schools or last names.

Who can see the party details?

Only families you invited (each with their own private link), you, and any co-hosts you add. The address goes only to invited families. Guests never see each other's phone numbers or who said no.

When is guest information deleted?

Automatically, 30 days after the party. You can erase it sooner, and you can download the guest list any time before then.

Are there ads or trackers?

No ads. No third-party trackers. Never sold or shared. There are no ads on your kid's invite or anywhere else, and we make money one way: the $29 package and optional add-ons. We count page visits privately to improve the site, with no cookies and no personal info.

Will you text my guests anything else?

Never. We only text the numbers you added, only about your party, and every family can reply STOP.

Texting and reminders

How do the reminder texts work?

The invite, a private nudge to families who haven't answered, a "see you soon" reminder, a packing list for sleepovers, pickup reminders and thank-yous. Each one is written for you and dated to your party. It opens on your phone ready to send, so it's one tap.

Does the RSVP nudge go to everyone?

No. Nudges are one-to-one, only for families who haven't answered. Nobody else sees them, and nothing is ever posted to a group.

Can I text one family, or everyone coming?

Yes. From Party HQ you can text one family, everyone coming, or only the families still deciding. Up to 300 texts are included.

What if a family doesn't want texts?

Every text is one you choose to send, so just skip that family. Their RSVP link still works.

Do the texts come from my phone?

Yes. Each text opens in your phone's messages app already written, with the family's private link, and you tap send. Families see it from you, a number they know.

The free trial, payment and refunds

How does the free trial work?

Send real invites to 3 families free for 48 hours. No card needed, and nothing charges when it ends. Pay $29 once when you're ready to invite everyone.

Is it a subscription?

No. $29 once per party. No subscription, no auto-renew, no coins, nothing to cancel.

How do I pay?

Apple Pay, Google Pay or card, through Stripe's secure checkout. We never see your card number.

What's the refund policy?

Write to us within 14 days and before your invites have gone out for a full refund of the package. Unused add-ons can be refunded within 14 days too. See the terms.

What guests see

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. Each family taps their own link, sees the invite and RSVPs in about 30 seconds. Kids never have accounts.

What can guests tell me when they RSVP?

Yes or no, their kid's name, allergies or food needs, sleepover or party only, a pickup time, and a note. Siblings can RSVP from the same link. Saying no is one kind tap: no guilt, no sad faces.

Can families who never got a text still join?

Yes. For whole-class parties, print the book-bag card: families scan the QR code, add their own number and RSVP. You approve each family before they see the address.

What if someone loses their link?

The party page has a "Text me my link" button. If their number is on your list, the link is texted again.

Ages and themes

What ages is it for?

First birthdays through teens. The age you enter sets sensible defaults: parents stay and siblings are welcome for little ones, drop-off questions for kids, sleepover and late-over pickups for tweens and teens.

Will my tween think it's babyish?

We hope not. Neon Glow, Spa & Movie Night, Game Night, Arcade and Camp-Out are made to look effortless. Let them pick: every theme is a tap away.

Are themes for boys or for girls?

Neither. Every theme is for every kid. We suggest themes by age and interests, never by gender.

Do you use cartoon characters?

No licensed characters, brands or stock photos. Every character is original and drawn for BirthdayPartyPal.

Editing after you send

Can I change the party after invites go out?

Yes. Change the time, the plan, the theme or anything else, and every family's link shows the update right away. You choose whether to text families about the change.

Can I add guests later?

Any time. New families get their own link, and Party HQ lines up their reminders too.

What if the party is cancelled?

Text everyone from Party HQ in one tap, then erase the party. If no invites had gone out, you can ask for a refund within 14 days.

Co-hosts

Can my partner or co-parent help?

Yes. Invite co-hosts by email from Party HQ. They can run everything except billing and erasing, which stay with you.

Can a grandparent see who's coming?

Add them as a co-host and they'll see Party HQ too: who's coming, who's still deciding, and the headcount.

Accessibility

Does it work with screen readers?

We build to WCAG 2.1 AA: real buttons and labels, keyboard support, visible focus, and text contrast checked on every theme. The decorative animations are hidden from screen readers.

What about motion sensitivity?

If your device asks for reduced motion, the opening sequences, confetti and scroll animations switch off and everything shows in its final state.

Does it work on older phones?

Yes. Invites are light, fast web pages that work in any modern phone browser, with nothing to install.
